Goodwill Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) offers:
- free tax help for taxpayers who qualify
- free tax help for low-to moderate-income, generally $49,000 and below
The Goodwill IRS Certified tax preparers are trained:
- to prepare basic tax returns for taxpayers and file the returns electronically for free
- trained to ensure that taxpayers receive all the tax credits to which they are entitled
During the tax season, Goodwill will offer this free tax preparation service in two of our retail stores. (more sites for filing 2011 taxes? perhaps, perhaps, perhaps...)

What to Bring to Goodwill’s Free Tax Site
Proofs of identification:
- Driver’s License
- Social Security card for you, your spouse, and dependents
- Birth dates
AND Income Statements and Forms to bring:
- Wage and earning statements (Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, from all employers
- Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099)
- Unemployment (Form 1099-G)
- Social Security (Form SSA-1099)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Gambling/Lottery Winnings (Form W-2G)
- Copy of last year’s federal and state returns, if available
- Bank routing numbers and account numbers for Direct Deposit
- Total paid for daycare and provider’s tax identifying number
